To praise God is not to pander to the ego of the most powerful being in existence. Rather when we do worship Him we should consider just who it is He says He is. Love, Life, Goodness, Peace, Faith, Light, Truth, Justice, Mercy,Savior, Our very Great reward. And many more such things which we think of as merely cataclysmic incidentals in this life.Note the bible does not say God is like, but rather HE IS. Even the name Jesus means God saves. Immanuel means God is with us. How comforting to think that we are so loved. Not looked down upon and forced to worship an egocentric deity. Rather by an act of free will, through worshiping Him, we learn to place at the center of our being those living values which have the ability to make the human race truly wonderful. (Grant de Jongh)
